ReKON: Differenzierte Möglichkeit (selections)
(trans. Reconstructed: Differentiated Possibility
Each of the work titles in the ReKON series comprise a poem composed specifically for this project - addressing both the creative process and the journey of life itself...as the cyclical ebb and flow of decay and renewal.

Mnemosyne Offers Spring for the Searching Soul
All my lightbox works evoke the palette and symbols of goddesses and deities from African and Mesopotamian mythologies: Yemoja, the Ifa/Yoruba Mother of all Orishas, of the oceans and seas, and patron of new journeys; Oshun, Orisha of water and fertility; and Inanna, Sumerian goddess of love and keeper of emotions. Early installations were also inspired forms of Mnemosyne; Titaness, Goddess of Memory, daughter of Cronus and Gaia, early lover of Zeus, and mother of the Nine Muses. She is widely forgotten but for the children she bore. Ironic, as her mythical role, alongside other cultural goddesses, was to remind us of the cycles of life, the energetic laws of the Universe, and to bestow life-affirmative philosophies and ideas upon those in need of inspiration and remembrance of their purpose. The symbolic use of water, trees, celestial, and fetal forms serve to conjure ancient and ancestral memories that empower safe, content, and creatively fertile lives.
